A university teacher for 30 years at Saint Leo University, Old Dominion University and Hampton University, he specializes in medical self-care issues. He is the author of Life, Limbs and the Pursuit of Happiness with Dr. Polly Peterson and over 30 research journal publications. A graduate of West Point, Quarstein is a retired colonel from the U.S. Army. He has three children and one grandchild, and he lives in Florida and Massachusetts with his wife Priscilla, of Delta Airlines.

Linda J. Dumanowski received her practical training at Stanford University Medical Center. A registered nurse for over 40 years, she has worked in neonatal intensive care, surgery and high- risk, and as a mother-baby nurse and nurse supervisor. She has taught nurses' education and pre-natal classes. Dumanowski lives in California with her two children and husband Jim, of IBM.
